New this week:
I cannot believe we are in our last week of distance learning!
I am incredibly sad that this is how we are ending our school year this year, however I am happy that you are all well and safe with your families and I have hope that we will be together again soon!
In the spirit of our last week together, this week we will be focusing on our emotional well-being.
Please take some time to watch the read alouds posted about emotions. There is an emotion cut and sort activity that you can try and an art activity.
There are also 3 jar activities- you can try all 3 or just one. The Mindful Jar, the Gratitude Jar, and the Post Covid-19 Jar.

A Story About Emotions
By: Anna Llenas
It’s important to take the time to focus on our personal feelings and emotional needs so that we can appropriately address those feelings. Do you feel happy, scared, anxious, excited, relaxed, bored, etc.
After you watch The Colour Monster read aloud, complete this activity.
Start by drawing a portrait of yourself and use any colouring tools to express your emotions.
Print and match the emotion words to the pictures.
1. Get a clear jar (like a Mason jar) and fill it almost all the way with water.
2. Add a big spoonful of glitter glue or glue and dry glitter to the jar.
3. Put the lid back on the jar and shake it to make the glitter swirl.
1. Get a clear jar (like a Mason jar).
2. (Optional) You may decorate your jar using liquid white glue (watered down) and leftover tissue paper from gifts. See image.
3. (Optional) You may decorate using paint OR leave your jar clear.
4. On small strips of paper, write down things you are thankful for, for example - spending time with family.
5. You DO NOT need to fill the jar right away, place it somewhere where you can write down things your are grateful for as they come to mind.
As we focus on growing gratitude we also want to look forward to our future.
With your families, think about starting a post Covid-19 jar. This can be done with any empty jar.
Start by having everyone in the family write down 1 thing you want to do post Covid-19.
Add to it often with all the activities you are missing and can't wait to do.
