Enhanced Construction Program (ECP)
Application Process
Students may apply to the program for next school year using the application link:
TVDSB Enhanced Construction Program Application for 2026-2027
The deadline to apply is February 13th , 2026 at 12 p.m.
Selection
Selection of students will be based on the application, as well as a potential interview. Students, and schools, will be informed prior to March Break of their acceptance, or not, into the program. This will allow for any necessary course selection adjustments.
Program Structure
Following selection, students will be shared students with Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School. They will attend the Carpenters’ Union Training Centre for either Semester 1 or Semester 2, earning four credits during that time:
Grade 11 Grade 12
ENG3C ENG4C
MBF3C MAP4C
TCJ3C2 TCJ4C2
*For the 2026-2027 year all courses will be delivered in-person.
In the alternate semester, students will attend their home school. After completing the in-class portion at the Carpenters’ Union, students should be enrolled in a 4-credit co-op, monitored by the co-op teacher at your school, to pursue a potential placement with the union.
Students in Semester 1 ECP should take co-op in Semester 2.
Students in Semester 2 ECP may take co-op in Semester 1, but these placements will not be union-affiliated. Students may have the opportunity for a union-affiliated coop placement following their classes at the Carpenter’s Union (Summer Coop or September 2027).
