Wait Pay for Scheduled Delivery Partners

Wait Pay is designed to compensate scheduled delivery partners when they don’t have an active earning opportunity - in other words, when waiting at the facility for the next order.

What is Wait Pay?

Wait Pay is a pay component that is only applicable to scheduled delivery partners. During a scheduled block, you accrue Wait Pay (in minutes), anytime you:

Where can I find my Wait Pay rate?

Wait Pay rates are will vary depending on the delivery block. In the Scheduler, you will be able to view the Wait Pay rates for all available blocks before you decide to request one. You can also reference the Wait Pay rate for any one of your scheduled blocks by clicking into that block.

How is Wait Pay calculated?

Wait Pay = (Scheduled minutes while waiting at the facility) x (Pay Rate)


The first part of the calculation - “scheduled minutes waiting at the facility” – is referring to the number of minutes you are at the facility waiting for an order. This number accrues over the course of a scheduled block.


The second part of the calculation – pay rate – is referring to the per-minute rate at that facility. For the latest rate at your location, check the Facility Details page in Gopuff Driver.

Can you give me an example of how Wait Pay works?

Let’s say you scheduled a 4-hour block, your facility’s pay rate is $0.28/minute, and you accrued 61 minutes waiting at the facility without an order assignment. Your Wait Pay would be calculated as follows:


61 minutes x $0.28/minute = $17.08 Wait  Pay 

How will I know how much Wait Pay I'm accruing?

In Gopuff Driver, you will see an indicator that lets you know how many minutes you’ve been collecting Wait Pay during a scheduled block.

I’m currently at the facility but the indicator in my app is not showing that I’m accruing Wait Pay. What should I do?

First, please check that you are currently scheduled at the facility you’re waiting at. Next, please check your cell signal. Finally, try refreshing the page by dragging down on the screen with your finger. If  you’ve taken all three of these steps and still do not see your Wait Pay accruing, please reach out to partners@gopuff.com

How will Wait Pay appear in my Earnings page in Gopuff Driver?

You will see Wait Pay in both your your daily and weekly summaries. Check out the examples below to give you an idea of what to expect in the app!

Weekly Summary Example

This delivery partner waited a total of 1 hour and 7 minutes during scheduled blocks throughout the week. Their location's pay rate is $0.20/minute. They earned a total of $13.40 in Wait Pay.

Daily Summary Example

On Monday, this delivery partner earned $9.60 in Wait Pay after waiting for 48 scheduled minutes at $0.20/minute.

Transparent calculation in the app

When you click on the tool tip (i) icon next to Wait Pay in your Daily Earnings summary, you'll see the Wait Pay calculation broken down for you.

When will my Wait Pay be available to me?

If you are eligible to use Instant Cash Out, Wait Pay will be available for you to cash out about 1 hour after your scheduled block is completed.
