The IB curriculum is made up of the IB Core and six subject groups.
Three IB core components, the Extended Essay (EE), Theory of Knowledge (TOK), and Creativity Activity Service (CAS) allow students to broaden their educational experiences and challenges them beyond their academic studies.
The Extended Essay (EE) is an independent, self-directed piece of research finishing with a 4,000 word paper.
Theory of Knowledge (TOK) allows students to reflect on the nature of knowledge and on how we know what we claim to know.
Creativity Activity Service (CAS) is an independent project in which students are able to take part in each of these three components.
All three components of the IB Core must be completed and receive a passing grade in order to earn the IB Diploma.
