Students will be expected to:

1: Describe the history of Islam starting from the time of the Prophet Mohammed and examine how the revelations revolutionized Arabic society.

2: Examine major Islamic belief as expressed in the Five Pillars of Faith.

3: Explain the significance of the Qur’an , the Hadith, and Shari’ah as the scriptural basis of Islamic theology and moral political law.

4: Develop an understanding of Muslim worship and ritual.

5: Examine Muslim communities outside of Islamic states and analyse the issues pertaining to Muslims living in a secular society.
