Students will be expected to:
1: Describe the life and teachings of Jesus as outlined in the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke).
2: Explain the historical development of Christianity, and examine the Council of Nicea and the conversion of the Roman Empire to Christianity.
3: Examine the major Christian beliefs such as the Divinity of Jesus, the Virgin Birth, the Trinity, and the Resurrection.
4: Compare the major denominations (Catholicism, Protestantism, Eastern Orthodox) and analyse the role of the sacraments in Christian Ritual and belief within those denominations.
5:Compare the Old and New Testaments and examine other scriptures.
6: Analyse the difference between Christian ethics and theology and examine issues pertinent to Christians in modern society such as the Divinity Debate and the impact of Christian belief on political policy.
