Welcome to Mrs. Boyd's Classroom. I am happy that you stopped by.
My name is Tenaya Boyd and I am currently teaching a grade 3/4 class. I created this website to share, design, and gather valuable resources that can be used within an elementary classroom or with your kids at home. My mission is to provide integrative activities that will inspire young learners to strengthen their curiosity, knowledge, and experience.
I live in the beautiful Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia with my husband and my two boys. Raising boys has been an adventure! I have had to find creative ways to incorporate learning into our daily routine.
Did you know that there is more to learning than sitting down to read or write a story? Learning can occur when a recipe is followed and ingredients are measured. The process becomes more interactive, exciting, and fun!
I am new to teaching within a classroom, however, I have a lifetime of experience helping children develop and grow. In fact, it is my passion to understand what children need to become the best version of themselves. During my own educational journey I have worked hard to absorb all information and advice that I could use to become an exceptional teacher. This website is a collaboration of my favorite discoveries. If you would like to share some of your most treasured resources please contact me.
One of my hobbies is to write and illustrate children's stories. Often I get an idea to write a children's story when I can not find a proper resource to use within the classroom. For example, my latest creation, Raven's Adventure, was written to model the elements of a narrative adventure story that students could easily dissect. The following are a few pieces of my work that I hope to have published:
