We appreciate our volunteers!

Volunteers are essential to a school. At Bluenose Academy, volunteers help out with our breakfast program, in the library, coaching, driving to sporting events, etc. Without our volunteers, we would not be able to offer everything  we do at Bluenose Academy.

Volunteer Requirements

To volunteer at Bluenose Academy, all volunteers must complete:

• Criminal Records Check (Pick up at the school office)

• Vulnerable Sector Check (Completed Online)

Both checks must be submitted to the school office. The paperwork will then be forwarded to the South Shore Regional Centre for Education (SSRCE) Human Resources Department for approval. Volunteers must receive approval before beginning their volunteer activities.

Volunteer screening checks must be updated every 3 years.

Driving Students

If you will be driving students, as part of your volunteer activities, you must also complete a Form J and submit it to the school before transporting students. A Form J is not required when driving your own child.
