Introducing Marina Stewart, Acting Principal At Bluenose Academy
February 10, 2026
Dear Bluenose Academy Families,
I am very excited to introduce myself as the Acting Principal of Bluenose Academy. It is truly an honour to join a school community with such a rich history and a strong sense of pride. I feel grateful for the opportunity to be part of your child’s educational journey and school experience.
I live in the Bridgewater area with my husband, who is also in education, our two children, andour high-energy yellow lab, Cami. I grew up on the South Shore and spent nearly a decade worth of summers working on the beautiful Lunenburg waterfront, where I met and grew many of the Lunenburg connections that I have today. Through our children’s interests and activities, our family has also developed further relationships in the Lunenburg area, which makes joining this community feel especially meaningful. We love camping and our South Shore beaches.
The SSRCE has always been my home. Although I am secondary trained, I have had the opportunity to work in many elementary settings and roles throughout my career, including P-6 classroom teaching, literacy intervention, and learning support. Most recently, I worked as an Instructional Coach with the South Shore Regional Centre for Education before becoming the Principal at Pentz Elementary in 2023. These experiences have reinforced my belief in the importance of strong instruction, relationships, and collaboration.
At my core, I am a teacher and a learner. I strongly believe that we all have a vital role to play in the wellness and success of our students, and that the partnership between school and home is incredibly important. When families and schools work together, great things happen for children.
I am very much looking forward to learning more about Bluenose Academy, celebrating the many wonderful things already happening within the school, and getting to know students, staff,
and families. I am excited to become part of this community and to learn alongside you.
Thank you for the warm welcome I have already received. I look forward to a great second part
of the school year.
Warmly,
Marina Stewart

Grade 7-12 (Starting September 14, from 5:30 - 9:30 pm)
IMPORTANT REMINDER:
Parents/Guardians are not permitted to PARK & EXIT THEIR CARS in the Drop-off Loop in front of the school during arrival and dismissal times.
Also note: This area is for Pr - 2 Student Drop-off ONLY. Parents/Guardians dropping off students in higher grades are to do so from the community center parking lot.
Parents/Guardians using the Parent Drop-Off Loop are NOT TO EXIT THEIR CARS. Please remain in your car at all times. A staff member will help with opening the door to assist children out of vehicles. The drop-off loop is to be a steady flow... no parked/unattended cars. This is to avoid congestion of vehicles, which could create a dangerous environment for traffic on Green Street. Please ensure you follow this process. Your safety, our students' safety and the safety of the general public are counting on this. (If you are a parent/guardian of a Pr-2 student and you want to walk your child to or meet them at the front doors, please go to the community centre, park there and walk over.)
DOG OWNERS: Dogs are not permitted on school grounds. Please do not bring them with you for student drop-off or pick-up. We have several children who have very real fears of dogs, and seeing them on site creates unnecessary stress and anxiety for them. Thank you in advance for being respectful of our students, their safety and needs.
