Reception Beep and Greet and Mystery Guest.
By Ibu Ashley K-S“Beep! Beep!” No, that horn isn’t a sign you’re in Jakarta traffic. It’s the sign of Reception’s first Beep and Greet!
Reception Beep and Greet.
We invited our parents and students to pick up their Term 2 booklets and have a responsibly distanced drive-thru meet with their teachers on Tuesday, October 13th. A plan was in place, parents and students from Reception A drove through the West Gate parking lot between 9:00-9:15 and Reception B parents and students followed at 9:30-10:00. Teachers were ready with their waving arms, encouraging signs, big smiles (under masks), crowns, and pageant sash name tags. Some students even greeted their teachers with home-made welcome signs and arms outstretched out their backseat windows. It was a joyous morning and a wonderful way to meet our students and parents face-to-face for the first time in the 2020-2021 school year.
“Who could it be knockin’ at my door?” Reception Mystery Guest
The students knew there was a plan brewing. The teachers knew they had to keep a little mystery going during our Reception Pajama and Breakfast morning on Friday, October 16th. Students inquired into what “Mystery Guest” meant on their timetable. Who would be coming? Was it someone they knew? Could it be someone scary? Teachers shared some clues and after a few minutes, there was a knock on the Google Meet door! The smiling face that greeted us was far from scary and none other than, Ibu Tina! Ibu Tina has been in touch with the Early Years’ teachers and since she was on school holiday at her new school, we thought it would be a great opportunity to have her visit and be our first Mystery Guest! Students were so happy to see their teacher from Kindy and used their thinking, social, and communication skills while asking and answering questions.
