Welcoming Our Wonderful UOI 2

In line with the Global Jaya School mission in which develops student's communication skills to actualise the academic potential in both English and Bahasa Indonesia, kindergarten students are also learning Bahasa Indonesia by recognising some letters such as the name, the sound, the form, and making connections to the objects around them. There were plenty of fun activities we have done to learn Bahasa. For instance, we were watching video Gatot Kata, letter treasure hunt, drawing, and finding some objects that start with letters. Additionally, we also utilised ICT/gadget as a medium to engage with the lesson/activity.

Term 1 is wrapped up, and we are ready for term 2!

Kindergarten students begin term 2 by exploring music such as type of music and its function, purpose of the music, when do the music be used, differentiate kind of music based on the occasion, family tradition/celebration, national day, for instance. Also, students learned about rhythm, which enables students to coordinate the sound and movements. During the lesson, students were actively involved in the class discussion, singing, dancing.

Hello, Kindy! An exciting distant greeting.

It has been three months meeting through the screen. To the booklet distribution, the teachers offered the children for meeting in person on Wednesday 21 October 2020 in a small event called "Hello, Kindy!". It was a drive-through process in which the teachers were there to say hello and hand the booklet. During the event, the students stayed inside the cars and obeyed the health protocol by wearing face masks. The meet and greet are one of the exciting moments since we can meet and greet in person. Various expressions came from the students, surprised, confused, happy, and excited. Thank you to the students and parents for the participation and thank you to the teachers and staff for organising this event.
