Greetings from the Environment Committee! We are happy to let you know what will be happening with the committee this year. So, here are the members of the Environment Committee:
Members:
Tristan Year 6
Mikaila Year 5
Ivo Year 4
Seyun Year 3
Allana Year 2
Purpose:
The purpose of the Environment Committee is to encourage and support the Global Jaya community to build awareness and have a lifelong positive attitude to develop a sustainable environment. It could be on a small scale like a school area or a larger scale like a neighbourhood.
Why does the Global Jaya community have to be aware of the current environment situation?
The Global Jaya school community needs to be aware because a healthy environment is essential for a healthy living. Global warming, deforestation, wildfires, air, vision, and water pollution are just a few environmental problems. We need to reduce the damage and destruction done to the environment.
How can we encourage and support to build a lifelong positive attitude towards a sustainable environment?
We can do this by reducing, reusing, and recycling waste. First, we need to reduce the amount of trash we produce. Second, we need to reuse things that can be reused. For example, you can reuse a shopping bag several times. Third, you can support waste recycling by separating recyclable and non-recyclable waste.
The environment committee has discussed ways to show our abilities regarding things we can do to oblige and assist the environment. We decided that we encourage the Primary community to fill in a survey.
Filling out the Survey:
Mikaila has the results:
“The survey result are really simple most of us (primary) are mostly concerned on trash in the ocean! Some of us have done something to help to. We got some good ideas from the survey to!”
Thank you to everyone who has filled and submitted the survey; we hope to deliver an exhilarating, invigorating, and exciting update as soon as possible. Green Regards to everyone!
