Dear Reception Students and Parents,
Welcome back to a new semester and happy 2020! We hope everyone had a relaxing and wonderful holiday season and that our children are energized to accomplish new things and make great new discoveries.
Reception has just started a new Unit of Inquiry in Term 3 under the Transdisciplinary Theme, “How The World Works” with the central idea, “People construct ideas about how the world works through playful exploration” while focusing on colours.
As a provocation, we had decorated our lovely shared area with many beautiful batik fabrics to trigger students’ questions about colours. We’re glad that our provocations not only raised curiosity amongst students, but parents too.
In the coming weeks, we will continue to explore more man-made and natural colours through various learning engagements, including our field trip to MotoMoto! So stay tuned for more updates about our inquiry into colours!!
On January 22nd, 2020, Reception celebrated the 100th Day of School. We sang 100 Day of School songs, counted to 100, decorated our plates with food that made the number 100, and also created 100-Day-Smarter crowns that we wore home that day. It was so fun and showcased how much we love school!
