Year 3 students are learning about our new Unit of Inquiry with the Transdisciplinary Theme of How the World Works. This unit is about Energy! As our provocation activity we were very happy to have two parents come and share their knowledge of energy sources. The first one was Pak Andi Wibowo, Kinar’s dad from Year 3A. He talked about the fossil fuels as one of the energy sources and the second was Pak Donald Situmorang, Adit’s dad from Year 3C. He talked about electricity and its sources. Students were being good listeners and inquirer when asking questions during the presentation. Students were also being risk-taker when answering the questions during the quiz sessions. It was a great experience to learn from our parents!

On December 2019, the Year 3 students had a Mini Biome Expo. Before the Mini Biome Exhibition started, we all had to prepare everything for our presentation. It was hard work but I did it! I independently prepared my diorama and my slide show presentation. It took more than a week for us to prepare everything. On the Mini Biome Expo day, we all confidently explained our biomes. My biome was the Deciduous Forest. My friends did other biomes such as: Taiga, Grasslands, Tundra, Desert and Tropical Rainforest. It was a tiring but exciting day for me because I met a lot of people who visited my booth. I also had to explain things over and over again. I was very happy to see my mom coming to my booth and I explained my biome to her. I also gave everyone who visited my booth reward stickers. At the end of the exhibition, we took our dioramas home and I feel soooo relieved that it was finally over! I hope everyone enjoyed our Mini Biome Expo!
