This week's lesson is about goals and goal setting. The beginning of the school year is a good time to think about what things you want to accomplish and how you can accomplish those goals. Watch the YouTube video about two Olympic medalists in gymnastics. Listen for how long they have worked for this goal and also who they thank for helping them reach their goals.

Finally, think about a goal you want to accomplish this year in school. This should be an academic goal. For example, "I want to make honor roll" or "I want to learn how to reduce fractions". I am including a worksheet here you can print and complete your goal on or you can write it on your own paper. It is easier to stay focused on goals if they are written down and kept so you can look at them to remind you.
For this week, I am giving you a choice board. All of the choices on it are meant to help you connect with your feelings and find ways to be aware of how you feel. There are 12 choices. Try as many as you'd like and notice which ones work for you so you can return to these later in times of stress, angry, sadness, etc.
Listen to the book "I Am Human." It's a good reminder that although we all have differences, we are all still human and need to treat each other well. We also need to treat ourselves well and know that it is ok to make mistakes! After you listen to the book, in the first worksheet you can write answers to the questions or draw a picture that answers it. The last three worksheets are coloring sheets you can choose to print and color.
This is Red Ribbon Week. This week we focus on the importance of not using drugs or alcohol. That's why we are having all these fun dress up days to remind us! Watch the videos below to learn more.
This week is about bullying and standing up for yourself and also others too. Watch the author of the book One read it aloud while some students act out the book. See if you recognize the bad behaviors and how we can learn to stand up for others.
Kindness and showing kindness is always a great topic so we can remember every day to be kind to each other! Listen to the wonderful story "Kindness is my Superpower". Can you think of 3 ways you have been kind this week?
It's a new year and with that comes a time that many people like to think about the last year and think about what you want to do this new year. Use the sheets below to set goals for this new year and then think back on the last year and.

Look at the handout on the four ways to be safe when using the internet. Next look through the examples and decide if those are examples of being safe or unsafe. If unsafe why are those unsafe?
