Watch the introduction video of me. Then, move down the page to the virtual classroom and finally the slideshow on work from home habits.
Welcome to my Virtual Counseling Classroom. Take some time to explore by clicking on the objects. Relax by watching the jellyfish in my tank, a glitter bottle, candle, or watch the snow fall on the lake through the window. Take some time to learn about bullies and send me a message by clicking on the mail in the mailbox or do a feelings check in by clicking on the poster. Most everything is clickable! Give it a try!
Stress! I am sure we all have been feeling this some lately. School is so different this year and that can bring added stress into all of our lives. Click on the link below. You will be asked to make a copy of the activity. Once you are on the slides, some are interactive. Go through them identifying what is causing you stress, what you currently do about it, and some ideas for new things you can try.

This week's lesson is about social media. Social media is a fun way to connect with friends and family, but if you are going to use it, it's important to use it in a safe way so that you and those you care about are protected. Keeping your personal information private, such as your full name, phone number, address, etc is important and keeping your accounts set to private is a good idea as well.
Look at and answer the three pretest questions. Be honest with yourself on this!
Read the Social Media Safety slide
Then look at the 16 example social media posts and decide for each one if you think that is a safe post or not and why.
The answer key is given for you to review and see how you did.
Finally answer the post test questions. Remember, you aren't turning any of this in to me, but be honest with yourself and hopefully learn some things to help you in the future!
Confidence is the focus this week. Statistics show confidence is one of the biggest areas middle school students struggle with. Watch the Ted Talk about confidence and see if you can learn some tips for becoming more confident.
Disagreements and empathy is the topic this week. Disagreements are a part of life and learning how to handle those is important. One way to handle them is to have empathy. Watch the video below about this topic.
This week we are looking at our inner voice. Read through the information below and see if you can come up with your own example.
It's a new year and with that comes a time that many people like to think about the last year and think about what you want to do this new year. Use the sheets below to set goals for this new year and then think back on the last year.
Here is a new virtual room for you to explore. Click around on the objects and if you want to send me a message click the mailbox.
See if you can complete all the activities on the choice board by the end of the week.
Career Awareness. I am giving your teachers career booklets that you will work on this week and next. You will learn about career clusters and what careers fall under each one. You will get an idea of what careers your interests fit with.
