Lesson 2-September 14th-18th

This week's lesson is about goals. Setting goals is a good idea especially at the beginning of a new year. Today you will learn about what makes a good goal and then can set your own goal for this school year. Read the following pages paying attention to what a "good" goal looks like and what a not so good goal looks like. At the end, set your own goal for the year. You can write this on your own piece of paper, but keep it somewhere you can look at from time to time. After setting a goal, you want to make sure you are staying on track to meet your goal! P.S. I know it's sideways....it won't let me flip it....Sorry! :)

Lesson 3-September 28th-October 2nd

This week we are going to focus on feelings and ways we can deal with different feelings. All feelings are ok to have! Making sure you handle those feelings respectfully and responsibly though is important! When you click the link below, you will be asked to make a copy and then as you click through the presentation, there are parts for you to move around and questions to respond to. I hope you have fun with learning about new ways you can deal with your feelings!

Lesson 4-October 12th-16th

This week the focus is on peer pressure. Peer pressure is when your friends/classmates try to push you to do something. Peer pressure is usually thought of as bad, but not all peer pressure is. If your friends try to get you to join a club with them that they know you'd like, that is positive peer pressure. That kind we don't need to avoid. Negative peer pressure though is our focus. This kind we need to learn to recognize and how to say no. Watch the two videos about peer pressure and see how it is handled in each. Then think about the consequences of peer pressure. The worksheet is about peer pressure and drugs/alcohol What if you say no to your friends? A possible consequence of not giving in would be your friends get mad at you. What if you say yes to your friends and give in to peer pressure? A possible consequence of this is you could end up in trouble. See if you can think of more answers for the worksheet.

Lesson 5-October 26th-October 30th

This is Red Ribbon Week. This week we focus on the importance of not using drugs or alcohol. That's why we are having all these fun dress up days to remind us! Watch the videos below to learn more.

Lesson 6-November 9th-13th

This week the focus is on differences. We all have differences. Some are obvious just be looking at each other, but other differences aren't noticeable unless we actually take the time to get to know those around us.

Try to find 4 classmates to ask questions to in order to learn more about them. Ask one set per student. See if you learn anything new about them and see how their answers are different than what you would have answered!

Lesson 7-November 30th-December 4th

Continuing from the last lesson on differences, this week we are looking at differences still, but also friendship and how that is impacted by differences. Listen to the story "The Sandwich Swap." As you listen and after you finish think if any of that sounds familiar to you. Have you had a similar thing happen ever in a friendship? How did you feel?

Lesson 8-January 4th-8th

It's a new year and with that comes a time that many people like to think about the last year and think about what you want to do this new year. Use the sheets below to set goals for this new year and then think back on the last year and.
