Relax by watching the jellyfish in my tank, a glitter bottle, candle, or watch the snow fall on the lake through the window. Take some time to learn about bullies and send me a message by clicking on the mail in the mailbox or do a feelings check in by clicking on the poster. Most everything is clickable! Give it a try!

Lesson 2-September 14th-18th

This week's lesson is about social media. Social media is a fun way to connect with friends and family, but if you are going to use it, it's important to use it in a safe way so that you and those you care about are protected. Keeping your personal information private, such as your full name, phone number, address, etc is important and keeping your accounts set to private is a good idea as well.

  1. Look at and answer the three pretest questions. Be honest with yourself on this!

  2. Read the Social Media Safety slide

  3. Then look at the 16 example social media posts and decide for each one if you think that is a safe post or not and why.

  4. The answer key is given for you to review and see how you did.

  5. Finally answer the post test questions. Remember, you aren't turning any of this in to me, but be honest with yourself and hopefully learn some things to help you in the future!

Lesson 3-September 28th-October 2nd

This week we are going to focus on feelings and ways we can deal with different feelings. All feelings are ok to have! Making sure you handle those feelings respectfully and responsibly though is important! When you click the link below, you will be asked to make a copy and then as you click through the presentation, there are parts for you to move around and questions to respond to. I hope you have fun with learning about new ways you can deal with your feelings!

Lesson 4- October 12th-16th

The career fair link with the videos and final survey have been left open this week. Please go watch some of the videos and take the survey that is listed under the "Friday" videos.

Lesson 5- November 9th-13th

This week we will start focusing on careers. We are going to use Career Cruising to learn more about your interests and how those interests match up with different careers. You will need to go to careercruising.com and login. Everyone's username is your lunch number with 035- in front of it. So for example 035-7000123. For the password, use gcps26 and do not change it. Let me know if you have any problems logging in. I will be able to see how much you have completed. Please make sure you start working on this. When you first log on, click the "Assessment" tab at the top. You will start with the "Matchmaker and my skills". You can take this more than once. Only complete that at this time.

Lesson 6-November 30th-December 4th

Continue working on your Career Cruising. You can play around with most anything on the site other than the "Ability Assessment." You will not do it until 9th grade. Find some possible careers you are interested in and possible schools for after you graduate. The goal is for you to be able to name the career cluster and at least one career you are interested in by the end of 7th grade.

Lesson 7-January 4th-8th

It's a new year and with that comes a time that many people like to think about the last year and think about what you want to do this new year. Use the sheets below to set goals for this new year and then think back on the last year and.

Try to start narrowing down your list of careers that you are interested in and what career cluster that falls under. You will be asked to write this down in the coming months.

February 15th-19th

Complete the slides on self-esteem. This is one of the parts of ourselves that we want to "check-in" on and see how we are feeling. Middle school years are a time where self-esteem can take a hit. Being aware of your self-esteem can help you improve it.
