Welcome! My name is Kayla Tippery and I currently live in Holmen. I am originally from Prairie du Chien, WI and moved to the La Crosse area for college. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood-Middle Childhood (EC-MC) Education. I am the first member of my family to attend college, and the oldest of three girls. I spent my first year of teaching in first grade in the La Crosse School District. After my first year, I moved to the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau School District. I have been teaching fifth grade at Trempealeau Elementary for three years now. My teaching partner and I started departmentalized teaching last year. I teach math, word study, and social studies to all of the fifth graders at Trempealeau Elementary. Although I do not teach the subjects reading and writing currently, I do have a Response to Intervention reading group.
I began my pursuit of my Reading 316 License to become a better reading teacher and learn more reading intervention strategies when working with my Response to Intervention groups. Reading has never been an area where I have excelled. Through this program, I have become a better educator for myself and my students (current and future). After achieving my goal of the Reading 316 License, my plan is to continue my pursuit to a Master's Degree.
