IBDP CORE
IBDP CORE
At GESS, the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) Core is at the heart of our studentsβ learning journey, fostering critical thinking, personal development, and global engagement. The Core consists of three key components that enrich academic studies and prepare students for success beyond school:
π Theory of Knowledge (TOK)
π Encourages students to question knowledge, think critically, and explore different perspectives across disciplines.
π Students complete a TOK essay and a TOK exhibition, demonstrating their ability to analyze knowledge in real-world contexts.
π Extended Essay (EE)
π A 4,000-word independent research project that develops academic writing, research, and time-management skills.
π Students work closely with a supervisor to investigate a topic of personal interest within an IB subject.
π Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)
π Engages students in experiential learning beyond the classroom through creative pursuits, physical activity, and community service.
π Students document their experiences and reflections on ManageBac, developing leadership, collaboration, and social responsibility.
At GESS, we provide personalized support to help students excel in the IBDP Core. Through one-on-one mentorship, workshops, and structured guidance, we ensure students maximize their potential and develop essential skills for university and beyond.
