Differences for HL:
More extensive content, including a broader range of cultural and social topics.
In-depth linguistic analysis, including advanced vocabulary and grammar.
More complex writing and speaking tasks, with a focus on critical analysis and reflective thinking.
HL students engage in more advanced oral assessments, requiring detailed discussion of cultural and thematic topics.
🔹 Standard Level (SL):
SL students focus on building strong, functional language skills, enabling them to communicate effectively in everyday contexts. While they still engage with the same themes as HL students, the materials are more accessible, and the tasks are designed to ensure practical communication rather than in-depth cultural or linguistic analysis. The emphasis is on functional language use and global engagement.
Differences for SL:
A streamlined curriculum that focuses on essential communication skills and cultural understanding.
Writing and speaking tasks are more concise, with a focus on clarity and functional language use.
