For Providers
Share to Care
Our team compiled months of research into informative infographics and presentations that touch on a variety of public health issues.
We intend to share these materials with health care providers and school teachers to use as resources for patients, students, and families. We encourage providers to also pass these resources along to their co-workers at their practice.
Linguistic Competency
In October of 2021, Tawara Goode, the Director of the National Center for Cultural Competence (NCC), conducted a Linguistic Competency training session. Click on this video to learn how to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations!
Infographics
Our dedicated team of research assistants have created and continue to create infographics to distribute to providers and families in the DC/MD/VA area. Many are featured here!

These inforgraphics are also available in Spanish, Amharic, and Arabic.
PRAPARE stands for the Protocol for Responding to and Assessing Patients’ Assets, Risks, and Experiences. This is an evidence-based, nationally standardized patient screening tool that is designed to check for an understanding of the social determinants of health (SDOH).
They offer a downloadable PDF of the PRAPARE Implementation and Action Toolkit and a series of Webinars geared towards assessing and addressing SDOH during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Check out www.prapare.org for more information.
Provider Assessment Survey
Our team created a survey titled: the Child Well-Being Agency and Provider Assessment Survey. The goal is to send this survey to various health organizations around DC (Children's National, Mary's Center, Community of Hope, etc.) to evaluate their child assessment tools and annual health resource events.
Upcoming Efforts
With some lifting of COVID -19 restrictions, the project team anticipates engaging more fully with the DC community (parents, providers and related organizations) by connecting with and visiting healthcare sites and schools.
We continue to incorporate suggestions made by the TA review team to include screening questions related to food insecurity and ACEs (child and parent assessment).
