Thrive DC is an organization that provides people in DC with many services, including employment assistance, training, and resources.

Employment services:
Computer lab access with volunteers helping with resumes, job search, and applications every Tuesday & Thursday from 1-3 pm
Individual case managers available to help with specific job search needs
Real Opportunity Training Program: For those who are having particular challenges with finding employment, this 18 week program offers a chance to develop restaurant cooking skills and receive a small stipend. Many participants are hired for jobs at restaurants after the program.

Bread for the City provides low income families in DC with medical care, and legal/social services, housing services and more. Their goal is to help families and communities develop power to guide their own future. For the economic resources, social workers are available to assist with problem solving & for providing community resources.

Pre-Employment Program (PEP): offers various employment services
Job Readiness Workshops: courses that help people develop resumes and cover letters, job search skills, interviewing skills, and more
Case Management: meetings with people to help with goal development and references to employers
Life Skills Coaching: coaches provide one-on-one support and mentorship for people in their job search
Job Placement: once participants graduate from the program, they are connected with job opportunities in DC or even within the Bread for the City organization
The DC Public Library has a site filled with job search and application resources. There are different sections with help on emails, resumes, cover letters, job search, interview skills, job coaching, and building new skills. Live resume, interview, and job coaching assistance are available daily from 1 pm - 10 pm EST (a DC Public Library card number is required)

The DC American Job Center offers many online job search services, workshops, and events (not currently held in person because of the pandemic)
Workshops include interviewing skills, job applications, resume & cover letter help, credit information, and more
