Community Resources
Neighborhood Collaboratives
These organizations were developed under the Healthy Families/Thriving Communities Collaborative by DC's Child and Family Services Agency to support residents within their own neighborhoods and networks. The groups work with a shared mission of improving family well-being by operating under the principles of commitment to children; respect for families; community partnership; high, quality, flexible, and responsive services; and accountability. Community members and neighbors' opinions are valued as their concerns and needs guide the services and projects of the neighborhood collaborative. Some of their services include case management, family advocacy, job readiness training, parenting classes, senior engagement programs, housing stability support, childcare, mental health support/treatment, and youth violence prevention programs.
