Simone Bunse


Dr. Simone Bunse has been a faculty member at Georgetown University since 2010. From 2010-2013 she directed the Oxford Graduate Program in International Management offered by McCourt and the McDonough School of Business (MSB). At MSB she has taught both in the Executive and evening MBA programs.

Prior to coming to Georgetown she was an Assistant Professor at the INCAE Business School in Costa Rica. Simone Bunse holds a DPhil in Politics from the University of Oxford (UK) and is a former visiting researcher at the Free University of Brussels. She has taught courses including: political risk analysis, decision-making for public policy, comparative policy process, policy analysis (client-based research), as well as political and economic development in Latin America.

Prior to her academic career she was a project manager at the international consulting firm Oxford Analytica. She has published with leading publishers, including Oxford University Press and Palgrave McMillan. Her 2014 article 'Latin American Female Executives: An Interesting Surprise’ - a collaborative effort by a team of researchers published in the Journal Gender in Management was awarded the Highly Commended Paper Award 2014 by Emerald. From 2016-17 Simone Bunse was selected as a Doyle Faculty Fellow to expand inclusive pedagogies and diversified course content to graduate courses to deepen the university's commitment to tolerance and diversity.

In January 2017, Simone Bunse relocated to Costa Rica to become the Academic Director at Lead University. She retains adjunct faculty status at Georgetown University.
