Happy February!
This month’s newsletter includes important information about the Parent Directed Special Education Services (PDSES) Grant. The application window opens April 1, and families are encouraged to sign up for email updates directly from SpedTex to stay informed about eligibility and application details.
In addition, GCISD is partnering with neighboring school districts and the IDD Council of Tarrant County to host the Making Connections Disability Resource Fair for Northeast Tarrant County later this month. This event is a great opportunity for families to connect with community agencies and learn about available supports and services.

On Saturday, February 21st, GCISD special services will be partnering with other local ISDs and the IDD council of Tarrant County for the Making Connections North Tarrant Disability Resource Fair. Mark your calendar to come visit with organizations that provide services for people with disabilities! We will be at Chisholm Trail High School located at 3100 NW College Drive, Fort Worth 76179:

Supplemental Special Education Services
The PDSES application will open April 1, 2026, at 8:00am CST and will close on April 30, 2026, at 5:00pm CST.
The Parent-Directed Special Education Services (PDSES) program is a one-time $1,500 online grant for parents/guardians of eligible students served by special education and who are enrolled in a Texas public school. Parents/guardians of eligible students can use the online accounts to shop the marketplace to obtain educational materials and resources such as textbooks, curriculum, or technology devices and/or services such as additional speech therapy, tutoring, or other specific services.
