Title defense is a crucial part of the research process, where researchers present their work in front of a panel of experts. As someone who has gone through the title defense process for the first time in our research on the English-only policy, I want to share some insights and reflections on my experience. I prepared extensively by rehearsing my speech and practicing in front of friends and family. Despite having a sense of confidence in our research and findings, I still felt a sense of anxiety as the big day approached. Prior to the title defense, I experienced a lot of anxiety and nerves, as I feared that I wouldn't be able to answer questions effectively. The feeling of having all eyes on me and the sense of responsibility to communicate my findings effectively was nerve-wracking. However, I also felt prepared and confident in our research, as I had worked hard to review the data and analyze it thoroughly. The feeling of excitement began to build as I settled into my seat and watched the other students present their research. During the title defense, I felt nervous and excited at the same time. It was a unique experience to present our work to a panel of experts, and I enjoyed the opportunity to field questions and engage in discussions. However, there were also moments of uncertainty, as I worried that I had missed something important. But the response from the panelists was overwhelmingly positive, and I felt a sense of pride and accomplishment for our team. After the title defense, I felt relieved and proud of our work. Even though there were areas where our research could have been improved, everyone had done their best, and it was a valuable contribution to our team. I also felt grateful for the feedback that the panelists provided, as it helped us identify areas for improvement. Overall, the title defense process was an intense but valuable experience. It required a lot of hard work and preparation, but it also offered an opportunity to showcase our research and receive valuable feedback from experts. But I am really thankful to my team for making this big day successful without their hard work it would not be as successful as it was.
