My experience was enjoyable and exciting because I met new people while conducting our survey door-to-door. I had the opportunity to socialize with other people to search for more interviewees to fill out our survey. I also learned many things while preparing and conducting this survey such as creating a Google survey and sending reminders to a large group of people. However, I also experienced some challenges while conducting the survey because some people did not have internet access, which is why there were some delays while completing the survey. I was also able to resolve this problem by providing internet access to all the participants. Our group experienced some challenges in communicating and contacting several students. We had some difficulties with some students who were not responding to our emails. We also have trouble making some students answer our survey. We divided our group into two sub-groups to find all the students on our list who had not completed our survey yet. We had to go door-to-door and find our respondents just to remind them to answer our survey. The two sub-groups even provided hotspot access to those students who did not have an available data connection. Thankfully, the students we reminded were kind enough to answer our survey.
Conducting the interview was one of our final tasks in completing our research. Before we had the interview, I rehearsed all of the main five questions and prepared possible follow-up questions. In spite of this preparation, I still felt nervous during my interview. However, my anxiety disappeared as we conducted our research. The feeling of ease arose as it was like just having a normal conversation with my interviewee. Although my interview had some setbacks and challenges, I would still consider it a great success because my interviewee's answers were a significant help in expanding our group's insight into our research topic. He was able to answer all of our five interview questions and all of my follow-up questions. The main difficulty that I experienced in my interview was with the availability of my interviewee because of the constant changes in his schedule that day. My interviewee kept delaying our interview because of an unexpected event. I also struggled to maximize the time of our interview because of some technical issues regarding the voice recorder and my interviewee was also quick to answer all of my questions. My interviewee had trouble expanding and expressing his answers during our interview because he had trouble expressing his thoughts in English. For the most part, all of these issues were resolved by simple things.
