Performance Task 1 was not accomplished as I was instructed by my cooperating teacher to forgo classroom observations. The beginning of the third quarter was entrusted entirely to me, placing full responsibility on my part to handle lesson planning and actual teaching from the outset.

Pink Index Card – Recitation Tracking (Each student keeps a pink index card where they record their class recitation or verbal contributions. This helps them track their participation to get incentives.)

The Bell Tolls for Us
The Bell Tolls for Us
This routine uses a service bell as a non-verbal cue to call attention to off-task behavior such as excessive noise or sleeping in class. The ringing of the bell acts as an immediate behavioral alert to the whole class. If the bell is rung three times within the day, the class receives a more demanding assignment, making the consequence a form of positive punishment (adding a task to reduce unwanted behavior).
This classroom routine title plays off the famous line “For whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee” from a poem by John Donne. The original meaning suggests that we are all connected, and when something happens to one person, it affects everyone.
In the context of our classroom routine, "The Bell Tolls for Us" can mean:
When the bell rings, it’s not just a signal for one student—it’s a reminder to the entire class that attention and discipline are shared responsibilities.
The consequence, a more demanding task after three rings in a day, affects everyone. This gives each student a reason to stay focused and gently keep their seatmates in check.
