Performance Tasks 1 and 2 were not accomplished as I was instructed by my cooperating teacher to forgo classroom observations. The beginning of the third quarter was entrusted entirely to me, placing full responsibility on my part to handle lesson planning and actual teaching from the outset.

Reflecting on my experiences throughout the internship, I feel more confident in several areas of the instructional cycle, but there are still a few aspects I need to work on. First, when it comes to lesson planning, I’ve developed a solid grasp of writing detailed lesson plans. I now know how to structure a lesson with clear objectives, engaging activities, and appropriate assessments. For instance, after being assigned the first lesson on making inferences and drawing conclusions, I was able to write a comprehensive lesson plan that aligned with the curriculum and catered to student needs. In terms of classroom management, although it was initially challenging, I’ve become more adept at managing the classroom and maintaining student engagement. I’ve learned how to use attention signals effectively and keep students focused during lessons. Additionally, I’m now more comfortable with delivering lessons and explaining concepts to students. I’ve learned to adjust my pacing, clarify instructions, and encourage student participation. My ability to facilitate group activities and provide individual support has also improved.
However, there are areas where I recognize room for growth. One key challenge is maximizing the space in the classroom. Since the room is large and open, I need to better utilize the space to ensure all students remain engaged and involved. Additionally, I’ve noticed that my voice sometimes isn’t loud enough, especially in such an open space, which can make it difficult for students at the back to hear instructions clearly. To address this, I’m focusing on projecting my voice more effectively. Another aspect I need to improve is the visibility of the materials I present to the class. I’ve learned that the font size I use on visuals or slides needs to be larger to ensure that all students, even those at the back, can easily read the content.
