Welcome to GIS Dragons Aquatics! Our primary mission is to promote and foster participation in swimming and water polo activities, closely aligned with both our school (AIMS, FOBISIA and SEASAC) and the Malaysia Swimming Federation (MAS). We strive to create an environment where athletes not only develop their skills but also embrace the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and excellence. As part of the GIS Dragons Sports Program the main purpose of the squads is participate competitively in the Aquatics’ events calendar.
At GIS Dragons Aquatics, we believe in the importance of following a structured, long-term approach to athlete development. That’s why all our squads are built upon the principles of the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model. This philosophy, tailored to the athlete's age and developmental phase, ensures that each swimmer and water polo player progresses at a pace suited to their physical and mental growth, setting a strong foundation for future success.
In addition to the LTAD, our programs are also deeply rooted in the core values of our school, encapsulated in the acronym RECIPE (Respect, Excellence, Commitment, Integrity, Perseverance, and Empathy). These values guide every aspect of our training and competitions, helping our athletes grow not only as sportspeople but as individuals who uphold the highest standards both in and out of the pool.
Each squad has its own specific time standards for trials, selection criteria, attendance requirements, and clear objectives based on the LTAD model. These are designed to help athletes set achievable goals while progressing through their developmental stages. Our approach ensures that every member of GIS Dragons Aquatics can thrive, with individualized support tailored to their needs.
Throughout the year, we organize key events that allow our athletes to showcase their skills and further their development. These include:
Early Fire International Swim Meet (Term 3, only Primary)
Dragonheart Swim Meet (Term 1, only Secondary)
Flying Dragons Aquathlon (All Dragons)
Dragons Water Polo Tournament
These events provide exciting opportunities for both our swimmers and water polo players to compete, challenge themselves, and celebrate their achievements as a community.
We are proud of the commitment and dedication shown by all our athletes, and we look forward to supporting them as they continue to grow, develop, and excel both in the pool and in life. Welcome to the GIS Dragons Aquatics family!
