IMPORTANT: Guidance will not collect more than 40 Hours of Community Service. Once you have submitted 40 Hours, we encourage you to continue your volunteer work, and share these experiences on your personal resume.
Access volunteer opportunity postings under CLASSWORK within your Grade-Specific Guidance's Google Classroom:

Print, complete necessary information, ensure Supervisor signature, student and parent (if under 18) signature.
Copies are also available in Guidance with a Carbon Copy attached, so that students can keep track of their submissions.
Same as Blank Form - must be completed, signed, printed, and submitted in person
We always recommend that students check with Guidance if they are unsure if Hours will be accepted. All volunteer work is useful towards career exploration, and excellent on a resume, but only not-for-profit organizations are accepted towards your 40 Graduation Hours.
The community involvement graduation requirement has been restored to 40 hours of community involvement activities for the last year. For students graduating in the 2023-24 school year, the ministry will NO LONGER permit the flexible measures for attaining volunteer hours.
Specifically, students can NO LONGER earn hours during the time allotted for the instructional program on a school day, NOR through duties (chores) normally performed in the home. Additionally, students can NO LONGER count a maximum of 10 hours from paid employment.
Only 40 Hours Max will be collected by Guidance towards your graduation requirement. Students are encouraged to continue volunteering past the 40 Hours, for the purpose of personal and professional development, and to include in a resume.
Not sure if your Hours count? Please see Page 2 of the Blank Form above. During school hours, students may also inquire in person to the Guidance office. Outside of school hours/Summer and unable to confirm if they count? We suggest you DO THE HOURS...even if they do not count towards your Graduation Requirement, they will still be applicable to a resume and any such initiative looks incredible to a future employer.
