High Performance Athlete Program
High Performance Athlete (HPA) Overview:
Our High Performance Athlete Program is a specialized, cooperative education program for exceptional student athletes to reach their maximum academic potential while actively pursuing athletic training. Athletes are considered as“High Performance”if they compete intensively in a recognized sport at the Provincial, National or International Level. The focus is on long-term career objectives while accommodating competitive needs individually tailored Co-op courses, and can be taken in Gr. 9-12.
HPA Student Acceptance Criteria:
Student-athletes must be involved in a qualifying sport and be competing at the provincial level or higher.
Guidelines for consideration:
supervised training or competition for:
15 hours per week over a 4 month period: or
10 hours per week over a 10 month period; and
the training season aligns with the school year
