Dear Climbers, Coaches and Coordinators,
It gives us great pleasure to announce that UWCSEA will be hosting another instalment of the SEASAC Invitational Climbing Competition. This page will hold essential event and coordination information for parents, staff and students.
This year, we wanted to offer all our invited participants something special - a taste of the true atmosphere at national bouldering competitions, and an insight into their challenge environments. We hope that the event will offer aspiring competition climbers a valuable opportunity to test their abilities and to hone their competition skills for the future.
This year’s event will therefore be conducted as a two-day bouldering-focused competition with qualifying rounds, semi-finals and a grand final event.

Both days of the competition will be held at the same venue: Boulder Plus (Boulder+, Chevrons).
The competition will feature only 1 discipline: Bouldering.
Each day's events will be conducted in a format that can accommodate the required number of participants and also deliver a realistic competition experience.
Qualifying rounds will be conducted in a “Session Format”. Participants will be given 60 minutes to roam an allocated sector of the climbing gym, choose their preferred problems and complete as many of them as possible. Each participant will earn points for every problem they manage to complete.
The total points from the 10 most difficult problems completed within the time limit will be their qualifying points.
Top 15 performers in each category will proceed to their respective Semi-Final rounds.
Semi-Final rounds will be conducted in a combined (male and female competitors will climb at the same time) “Rotation Format”. A set of new problems for each gender category will be put up on an exclusive competition wall in the gym. 15 qualified participants will have a limited amount of climbing time, rotating between each problem and the same rest period, in a prescribed order.
Top 6 performers in each category will proceed to their respective Grand Final rounds.
Grand Final rounds will be conducted in accordance with the “IFSC Concurrent” format. A set of new problems will be put up on the competition wall in the gym. Male and female finalists will approach the problems in designated pairs. They will be given a fixed amount of time to attempt each new problem in a specified order, rotating between a “challenge” phase and a “rest” phase until all Final problems have been attempted.
Top 3 performers for each category will be awarded prizes at the end of the event.
Additional awards for the “Best Overall Team” will also be awarded for both male and female age-categories. Each Team’s score is the combined performance score from their top respective top climbers.
Additional detailed information will be shared with competitiors and coaches closer to the event date.
Participating schools are requested to confirm your attendance by replying to the Formal Invite Email, and also submit your team details via the official registration document attached.
