Dear Climbers, Coaches and Coordinators,
It gives us great pleasure to announce that UWCSEA will be hosting the 6th edition of the SEASAC Phoenix Climbing Invitational Competition. This page will hold essential event and coordination information for parents, staff and students.
For the academic year of 2025/26, we wanted to expand and deepen the positive experiences offered in the previous year's competition simulation. The bouldering competition format (qualifying rounds, redemption rounds, semi-finals and grand finals) together with the skill-based categories were generally well-received, albeit with many suggestions for fine-tuning and more detailed screening.
This year’s event will therefore build up on the successful features from last year as follows:
More clearly defined event categories based on participants' experience and skill-level, supplemented by real-world gym climbing levels.
Reworking the categories to better reflect the intended participant profiles: STARTERS, NOVICE & INTERMEDIATE.
Adding a Semi-Final round for Novice category climbers.
Continue to offer multiple rounds for every category for more fun challenges and learning opportunities.
Increase the number of students accepted into Semi-Final and Final rounds, where possible.

Participating schools are requested to confirm your attendance by replying to the Formal Invite Email, and also submit your team details via the official registration document attached.
Each schools can register up to a total of 35 students, regardless of the event categories they choose. For example, a school may register a total of 15 Novice climbers (girls and boys), 8 Intermediate climbers (girls and boys) and only 5 Open climbers (girls and boys), making a total roster of 28 students.
Students may join a more challenging event category if they wish, but they must compete in that category for the entire competition, and may not join a more junior category at any time. For example, an Intermediate climber may wish to join the Open category, but they will need to remain in the Open category for the entire event.
Additional participants may be accepted if the event schedule and capacity can accommodate them. Please reach out to the organisers for discussion and confirmation.
All team entries must be submitted by 31 January 2026.
