Being part of a local service allows students to partner with Social Service Agencies (SSAs) in Singapore to investigate, prepare and take informed action to address issues including:
Income inequality
Access to holistic education
Migrant worker rights
Ageing population
Stigmatisation towards people with disabilities and people with mental health conditions
It also gives you an opportunity to use your specific skill set to take direct action that supports our local community.
Students in this service will learn key coaching concepts, conduct a needs analysis for a local service group, and deliver a series of coaching sessions at a childcare centre. The service provides hands-on experience in using football as a force for good by breaking down social and economic barriers and bridging holistic education that is accessible to all. Through this experience, students will also gain a deeper understanding of income inequality in Singapore.
This gives the students the opportunity to develop their communication and collaboration skills with their peers, but also directly with the children and caretakers from our partner childcare centre. Students develop the skills and qualities of the Learner Profile as they learn to adapt and problem-solve each week.
PCF 140 supports working parents by providing affordable and quality education for their children, including families from the lower-income. In this service, students organise and lead weekly gymnastic sessions for 5- to 6-year-olds that are fun, interactive, engaging, and educational. These activities complement the childcare centre’s curriculum, enhance cognitive and physical development, and build self-confidence in preschoolers.

Support for our Migrant Friends is a local service opportunity that began in September 2020. We raise awareness and take action to support our migrant friends by working with partners such as the COVID-19 Migrant Support Coalition (CMSC) which is an umbrella organisation that contains groups such as Citizen Adventures, Its Raining Raincoats, Migrant x Me, and Singapore Migrant Friends.
Students in this service organise and lead initiatives that will raise awareness of matters concerning the migrant worker community in Singapore and support their immediate needs in a variety of ways such as undertaking donation drives for items that migrant workers have requested (eg water bottles, clothing, toiletries and so on). This Service provides students with a deeper understanding of the issue of inequality in Singapore. It gives them the opportunity to develop communication and collaboration skills with their peers, but also directly with the staff of CMSC/other NGOs. Students develop the skills and qualities of the Learner Profile as they learn to develop empathy, adapt, and problem solve each week.
Our Migrant Worker Cricket Service is a biweekly initiative held every other Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, where students and migrant workers from our school community come together for casual rubber ball cricket matches. It’s a fun, low-pressure environment that celebrates teamwork, laughter, and the simple joy of playing cricket. Whether you're a seasoned player or just love being part of a team, this service is your chance to build a more inclusive, welcoming community, one match at a time. The service partners with In This Together, a non-profit that engages and connects with migrant workers in Singapore.

This Service partners with Apex Harmony Lodge to interact with Persons with Dementia (PWD) and provide a respectful and worthwhile experience for students and residents through musical engagement. We aim to help PWD have more social interactions and conversations and develop frequent interpersonal relationships. Students build awareness about how to interact and connect with PWD, providing insights into their way of living and seeing beyond their illness. Our service employs a scientific approach (Music with Reminiscence) by playing personalised music to each resident in hopes of temporarily triggering their lost memories. Students will be supported by a trained staff member at Apex Harmony Lodge. The Friday Music Therapy session will focus on playing recorded music and conversing with residents.

By 2030, almost one in four Singapore residents will be a senior. Many older adults face loneliness and social isolation, which can affect their emotional, mental, and even physical wellbeing. This is why Active Ageing Centres like Lions Befrienders exist: to create inclusive, supportive spaces where seniors can stay socially connected, continue learning, and lead active, purposeful lives.
Students in this service will partner with Lions Befrienders to co-create a hands-on, intergenerational STEM learning experience that blends creativity, technology, and personal storytelling. Through an innovative programme that integrates Textiles and wearable technology, high school students will work alongside trained facilitators to guide seniors in designing and making Self-Expression Cushions. These projects, brought to life using tools like the Bernina embroidery machines and sewable electronics such as the LilyPad, will allow seniors to personalise their creations with text, lights, and potentially even sound or motion.
Beyond crafting a unique, tangible item, this process will help seniors strengthen fine motor skills, build digital literacy, and express themselves emotionally in new ways. For students, the collaboration offers a rare opportunity to develop empathy, adaptability, and problem-solving skills as they communicate and work directly with seniors. Together, they will create not only beautiful, functional art pieces but also meaningful human connections — proving that learning, creativity, and joy know no age limit.
