Your teachers will have planned your study programme to enable you to develop knowledge, skills and understanding of your chosen subject(s) so that you can achieve your qualifications.
Your will have a weekly timetable which will be structured in a way so that you will have a variety of lessons and activities during the week - including vocational units, workshops, English & Maths, Professional Development hour, independent study and blended learning.
Your teachers will plan lessons that enable you to learn in a variety of ways and will encourage you to try new ways of learning that will help you develop your skills further.
During the year you will also undertake work experience, visits and trips to enrich your study programme.
On-line learning will generally form 25% of your timetable for college. our on-line learning is as important as your timetabled learning in college and it is very important that you keep up to date with this. The online learning tools will be mainly via Google Classroom. You will be shown how to use these tools which will include important information about your course or the college. These tools and other forms of e-learning will be integrated into your studies to support your learning, both in and outside of college. See the section on Blended Learning for more details.
You will be allocated a Progress Tutor and a Link Tutor who will be your main points of contact whilst at college. Your Link Tutor will be responsible for inducting you to the college and for supporting you and monitoring your progress throughout your course. Your Progress Tutor is responsible for your pastoral support and personal development. If you have any concerns or need any support, you should talk to your Progress Tutor.
Your Head of School is responsible for your course and may also teach you for some of your lessons. You will meet your Head of School during induction.
