In my view, the most notable is how dancing can serve as an outlet for stress, it made me relate to myself, whom is started to dance fairly recently. In fact, I am part of the school dance club. The dance club has been my safe haven to unload my stress and loosen up my negative emotions accumulate over the weeks. I used to detest dancing, particularly because I was not good at it and was ashamed to express myself. But as I practiced progressively more, the better I enjoyed it and now it has become an essential part of my life as it assists me with the struggles that come with growing up. Emotions can be hard to explain with merely words. What we can do instead is by dancing to release our thoughts and feelings. Aristotle believed that dance was useful for “purging the young soul of unseemly emotions and preparing for the worthy enjoyment of leisure.”. Dancing confers not only health, agility and beauty, but also goodness for the soul and a well-balanced mind.

Today’s lecturer Liu Shuying, she is not only a professor in NTHU, but also a professional dancer. In this lecture, she interprets the speech in a very special way, without showing us many slides as usual. She kindly invited classmates to come on stage and dance together, let us directly experience and dip in the beauty of dance. Actually, I have been a dancer for five years and I am really fond of dancing! When the lecturer invited classmates to dance together on stage, it made me feel extraordinarily special and happy. In this speech, the lecturer shared a lot of valuable things with us, such as that the dancers interpret the beauty of dance through the body, the audience can also have a little experience and appreciation of dance. Last but not least, she shared the soul of dance deeply.
