Have you ever thought that the beautification of textbooks will enhance students' learning motivation?
In today's lecture, the speaker expanded today's theme with a video, and explained the design concept of the aesthetic textbook. At the same time, it is proposed that aesthetic education must start from an early age, and advocates the importance of aesthetic education to take root down. Therefore, when designing textbooks, the team tried their best to present the textbooks and incorporate different styles, such as illustrations, collages, photos, and colors.The use of blocks and lines, etc., the color is also based on harmony, which is very different from the colorful and variegated arrangement of traditional textbooks. The layout also pays attention to the visual focus and the movement of watching.The speaker used the city emblem as an example. The gap in design makes textbooks not only textbooks, but also a source of aesthetics for students.
Miss Wang also talked about her education experience in high school. She mentioned three questions that students like to ask the teacher the most. The first one Is ”Can I go to fill the water”.The second is ”Can I go to the toilet”? In fact, students only ask these questions because they don’t want to stay in the classroom.The third one is ”Is this question will be tested”? but in fact the students just don’t want to stay in the classroom. When students get the book, they no longer have hollow eyes, but happily open them with their hands and read the contents of the book. Aesthetic textbooks spend a lot of time and manpower, and the relative cost is higher than general textbooks. In recent years, e-books have become more and more popular. Will aesthetic textbooks develop towards e-books? It can also save printing costs.
What do we want to bring to students? It is not only subject knowledge, but also humanistic accomplishment, cultural connotation, and self-affirmation and identification, in order to complete aesthetic education and make students become elegant scholars with both connotation and taste.
除此之外,我也更深刻地感受到推動改變的艱辛和不易。升高二的那年暑假,我參加了臺大所舉辦的集思論壇,在為期五天的營期中,我們必須針對未來教育這個主題設計出一個行動方案,我們這組融合了「批判性思考」、「辯論」和「遊戲式學習」的想法,設計出一款叫做Crinitial(Creative+Initial)的應用程式。儘管設計的過程中我們已經盡可能地設想所有可能遇到的問題,但當評審老師對於我們的方案提出可能在市場上遇到的問題時,我們仍是費了許多心思才總算說服他們我們的理念是可行的,而這時,我們甚至還沒開始實際推動我們的計畫。美感細胞團隊為了推廣社會比較少關注的教科書封面設計議題,付出更多心力,除了演講和網頁經營不斷地和大眾溝通,更需要獨立解決機構運作資金的難題,這些,都是平時我們部會注意到、卻同樣難能可貴的故事。
改變是需要由行動和勇氣長期堅持下來的,是每個微小的改變,堆疊出最後的結果;或許努力的過程中我們會感受到挫敗甚至遭遇到沉重的打擊,但正是這些打擊讓我們不斷反思如何能夠讓下一次行動更加圓滿並且更加圓融地面對各項挑戰。這場講座,帶給我「做出改變的勇氣」,王淳女士的演講非常觸動我的心,因為她和美感細胞團隊用實際行動去改變現況的不平等,並且不斷在教科書的美感設計方面追求突破及進步,而這,也讓我更加確定自己未來的目標:我想從事教改,但首先,我想成為一位在教育前線工作的老師。臺灣的教改之路也走許久,結果卻常常是「理想很飽滿,現實很骨感」,改變到最後,留下的往往前線教師和學生滿滿的無奈和不知所措;儘管19歲的我,看的還不夠多,也沒有資格去評斷教改的成功與否,但我始終相信教師是一個神聖的職業,是一份用生命影響生命的職業。就像看似簡單且容易被大多數人忽略的教科書美感設計其實扮演著影響孩子學習動機的重要角色,更不是一份容易的工作:美感設計除了需要空間和設計感之外,更需要相關科目的背景知識輔助,才能製作出一本能夠激發孩子熱情的教科書。
馬丁•路德博士在好久好久之前說過他有一個夢,而我,我發現我也有一個夢。我有一個夢,我希望在未來,我能望進一個個迷茫孩子的雙眸、握著他們的手,肯定地和他們說:孩子,你是有價值的、你是獨一無二的,而那,和你成績優劣無關,你的價值,從來不是來自於成績的好壞。而我們會陪你找到屬於你的價值、我們永遠都不會放棄你,我們會陪你找到最適合你的教育。我希望用溫柔推動這場改革,我希望成為一位溫柔的老師,透過在教育第一線與孩子們以及老師們的互動,了解他們真正需要的是什麼,並且幫助更多孩子找到更多可能性–我想當一位平凡卻實際的實現者。謝謝王淳女士和美感細胞團隊,謝謝你們,讓我看清現實不易的同時,也看見了溫暖和希望的存在。
