TNL - Two Thumbs Up!

Saturday Night Live. Substitute the Saturday with Tuesday, and you got Tuesday Night Live, aka TNL.
Get it?
No?
That’s okay, I didn’t either. I never got it until I decided to check it out.
Having little to no knowledge about what Tuesday Night Live was, I went the production on February 26th, 2018. I for one, did not know much about TNL. I thought it would be a bunch of planned, funny skits. Funny being on a loose definition.
They did indeed have funny skits. And the best part- they came up with it on the spot! No one told Casey Gibbs to rotate his hips that night, he made that decision all on his own, in that second. Arthur Dilbert was trying to convince his partner that she was his uber driver and Alexia Spicci and Cami Weber were breaking up and Alexia was taking Cami’s parents with her. All crazy ideas and all on the spot.
Even better, they came up with these scenarios based on an object or word the people in the auditorium gave. Mr. Miller walked around the auditorium asking for the audience to give suggestions based on a category. The categories ranged from “physical activity”, “phobia”, and “odd words”. The lucky word gpt sent up on the stage and the students came up with a skit on the fly.
I admit it, I didn’t have high expectations. Improv is difficult and I wasn’t sure how the night would turn out. Looking back, I should have had high expectations, but it wouldn’t have mattered because the TNL club killed it! They blew away my expectations.
The students practiced after school on Thursday. A few even made short films to present in between skits at the show. Their hardwork and dedication really paid off as shown in their entertaining performance.
TNL only presents one time a year, but the recording of it will be posted online on the Hilton Media Page. Until then, you’ll have to wait for next year to see the production in person. The show is about and hour and a half long, and if you need a good laugh, it’s an hour and a half well spent.
