2024-2025 Band class period placement auditions:

Liberty 8th graders: Wednesday, May 15 during Liberty band classes

Apollo 8th graders: Tuesday, May 14 during Apollo band classes

Berkner current 9/10/11th graders: Mon/Tues May 13-14 during BHS band classes

• Students will perform the following:

  1. Major scale 

  2. Chromatic scale 

  3. Bach etude

Q: What is a “Band Placement Audition”??

A: All brass, woodwinds and percussion registered for Berkner Band 2024-2025 will play a live audition for a Berkner band director for consideration for any band higher than Concert Band (Symphonic Band I, Symphonic Band II, or Symphonic Band III). Band Staff will hold the live audition at the student's campus during their band class. Audition dates are listed below!

Q: What will I play for the Band Placements? 

A: For consideration for placement in a band higher than Concert Band, you will play the following:

• 1: One Major Scale

• 2: Chromatic Scale 

• 3:  Bach Audition Etude

Percussion will play one mallet etude and one snare etude (listed in the packet below)

Q: What are the dates of the live auditions at my school? 

A:  Apollo JH: Tuesday, May 14th           (during band classes)

     Liberty JH: Wednesday, May 15th     (during band classes)

     Berkner HS: Mon/Tues, May 13/14   (during band classes)
