Band physicals 2021

Every student (regardless of grade) signed up for Berkner Band 2021-2022 is required to complete a Physical before starting Summer Band on July 26, 2021. The two page document is to be printed and completed by a physician.

You do NOT need to have this done before our upcoming June 1 - June 4 Camp.

It must be completed before our Summer Band camp on July 26.

You can do this two ways:

  • Use the $20 coupon HERE for a reduced price Physical at PrimaCare.

  • Print THIS two page document and take to your primary care physician / pediatrician

Once you have completed your physical, feel free to scan it and email it to Mr. Schayot at jason.schayot@risd.org. Be sure to bring your hard copy of the physical with you on July 26.

Band calendar 2021-2022

For a complete listing of all band dates for 2021-2022, AND a google calendar that syncs to your device with all dates pre-loaded:

preparing for summer band:

  1. Walk outdoors for 20 minutes each day to acclimatize your body to the outdoor heat. Summer Band is outdoors each day from 7am to 11am.

  2. Begin drinking more water than you are used to. Try drinking a full glass of water when you wake up, and another full glass before you go to sleep. Consider minimizing carbonated soft drinks, and drinking water at as many meals as possible.

  3. Begin working your sleep schedule back to a more normalized schedule. Summer Band starts early each morning so that we avoid the summer heat! Consider starting to go bed earlier as you get closer to July 26th, and maybe slowly move that alarm earlier a little each day.

  4. Practice your Part One of the 2021 Berkner marching production (Part One was handed out at the June Varsity Camp). Email Mr. Schayot if you would like your Part One emailed to you, or if you did not attend the June Camp.

Feel free to email Mr. Schayot with your questions as we move closer to July 26th! jason.schayot@risd.org
