What is Resilience?

          • Recovering or adapting well to challenging situations
          • Bouncing back from negative events or managing big problems in your life.

Who are some people that help you manage challenges

          • Parents

          • Peers/friends

What are some activities that help them manage challenges

          • Physical activity (walking, sports, sleep)
          • Artistic activity (draw, sing, music)
          • Mental messages (What they say to themselves ‘I can handle this’)
          • Writing/journaling
          • Mindfulness
          • Deep breathing
          • Takeaways
          • Try to put a positive spin on a negative situation
          • Acknowledge that something bad happened, it stinks, they can’t control it, but they can control their response
          • Ask for and receive support from others
