Using and Creating Activities in Seesaw

Learning Objectives

  • Explore, save and edit already created activities to assign to students

  • Create your own activities from scratch to assign to students

  • Share created activities with other teachers in your building/district

Using the Activity Library

The Seesaw Activity Library is broken up into 3 sections:

  1. Community Library- This is where you can find many different activities created by Seesaw and teachers who Seesaw have selected to share lessons. All lessons are vetted by Seesaw to make sure they are following copyright laws. Lessons in the Community section can be filtered by grade level and subject.

  2. School Library- This is where teachers in your school can save lessons that they have edited and/or created to share with other teachers. Teachers can save these lessons into their own library, make changes specific for their class and assign to students.

  3. My Library- This is where you store all of the activities that you have saved from the community and school libraries. It will also hold all of the activities you have edited and created on your own. You can assign lessons from "My Library" to your students and/or save them to your school library.

Edit Activities from the Community

The Community Library is the best way to get started with using and creating activities in Seesaw. The community library has many different activities for every grade level and subject. You can assign these activities directly to your students or save to your library and edit them to fit the need of your students.

Creating your own Activities

If you can't find an activity in the Community Library that fits your lesson, you are able to create your own activities that can be saved to your personal lesson library and the school library. This short video gives you a great "how-to" when creating your own activities. Start at 2:25 --------->
