The National Technical Honor Society is an educational non-profit that exists to honor, recognize, and empower students and teachers in Career & Technical Education. As the honor society for Career & Technical Education, NTHS serves over 100,000 active members annually in both secondary and postsecondary chapters across the country.
Since its founding in 1984, nearly 1 million students have become NTHS alumni. NTHS honors the achievements of top CTE students, provides close to $300,000 in scholarships annually, and strives to help connect education and industry to build a highly-skilled workforce.
To honor student achievement and leadership in career and technical education, promote educational excellence, award scholarships, and enhance career opportunities for the NTHS membership.
To be the international leader in providing recognition for excellence in career and technical education.
Participate in a Career and Technology Education pathway, program, major, or coursework
Maintain a GPA of 3.75 unweighted or better
Complete at least two CTE courses
Clean discipline record (no infractions beyond Level 1)
Complete one of the following each year in conjunction with your membership:
Actively involved in a Career and Technology Student Organization (CTSO)
Complete at least 10 hours of community service or volunteer work each semester
Participate in work-based learning, job shadowing, or internship opportunity through your CTE program
Submit a $30 one-time, non-refundable membership fee via MyPaymentsPlus by the deadline
*Honor Cord Fee will be applied to your MPP account during your Senior year if you wish to order honor cords (an e-mail will be sent as a reminder during Spring Term).
