GREAT FIRST WEEK!

Happy Wednesday families! 

We have had a great first week of school. Students are showing CHAMPS expectations in our hallways and classrooms to keep our school orderly and joyful. Make sure to ask your students about our "Big Three"assemblies where we talked about how to be SAFE, KIND, and READY TO LEARN! Our dismissal is getting faster each day WOOHOO! Thank you families for everything you do to help your students learn their numbers.

Background ChEcks

Families: Savannah requires background checks for anyone volunteering on campus OR coming to campus for lunch with their student/s. Make sure your background check is up to date. We will begin allowing families to eat lunch with their students on August 28th. This gives our teachers  and students time to practice cafeteria procedures properly before we welcome guests.

possible new pre-k at paloma Creek

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Denton ISD is considering opening a new Pre-K section at Paloma Creek Elementary (1600 Navo Rd, Aubrey, TX 76227) to meet the growing needs of our families in the Braswell Zone. 

This new Pre-K section would serve only 4-year-old students who meet one of the state eligibility qualifiers: 

• Learning English as a second language

• Income (Income Eligibility Chart for 2023-2024).

• Homeless

• Dependent of a member of the military on active duty, injured or killed while on active duty

• Currently or has ever been in the State of Texas foster care

• Dependent of an individual who received the Star of Texas Award

Please complete this short survey to indicate your interest in attending the new Pre-K section at Paloma Creek. Completing this form does not guarantee placement at Paloma Creek.

ESD On Half Days

Dear Families,

Denton ISD will provide engagement for students on the upcoming early release day, September 1, 2023, from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm for elementary children.   The Extended School Day program will coordinate with each campus to provide engaging activities for students while teachers are participating in Professional Learning Communities.   In addition, Denton ISD transportation will be provided at both the early release time (12:00pm) and the regular release time (3:00 pm) for all eligible elementary bus students.

Parents must sign up each month to participate.  If your student currently attends ESD, you do not need to sign up.

Participation in this opportunity will require completion of the form below. All forms must be submitted no later than August 25, 2023 to participate.

Estimadas Familias:

El Distrito Escolar Independiente de Denton brindará actividades escolares para estudiantes el día de salida temprano, 1 de septiembre de 2023 de las 12:00pm hasta las 3:00pm para niños de primaria. El programa Día Escolar Extendido se coordinará con cada campus para brindar actividades escolares para estudiantes mientras los maestros están participando en grupos de aprendizaje profesional. Además, se proporcionará transporte de Denton ISD tanto a la hora de salida temprano (12:00pm) y a la hora de salida regular (3:00pm) para todos los estudiantes de primaria elegibles para utilizar el autobús.                                                                               

Los padres deben inscribirse cada mes para participar. Si su estudiante atiende actualmente ESD (Día Escolar Extendido, por sus siglas en Inglés), no necesita registrarse.
