Arrival & Dismissal

aRRIVAL & dISMISSAL

When thinking about arrival and dismissal of our students at Savannah safety was at the center of all conversations. We have made a couple changes to our systems to ensure all students arrival and dismiss from school each day safely. Please be patient with us the first couple of days as we work through our new systems. Below you will find videos about arrival before 7:30am, after 7:30am arrival, walker dismissal, PreK - 1st grade front car rider dismissal, and 2nd - 5th grade back car rider dismissal. Please look over these videos to ensure you know the new systems here at Savannah.

Arrival

Students may start arriving on campus this year at 7:10am. We ask that you drop off your student in the back building by the cafeteria off Cotton Exchange at this time. Students will enter the cafeteria doors. Breakfast eaters will stay in the cafeteria to eat while non breakfast eaters will go to the gym until the 7:30am bell rings. We ask that students are not dropped off before 7:10am. If students are dropped off before 7:10am there will not be adults on campus to monitor them. At 7:10am we will let students enter the cafeteria doors.

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE:  We are having a safety issue with parents dropping children at our front, side and back doors after the 7:40 bell and leaving. Once the bell rings, our staff must be inside the building instructing our students. We cannot man the doors any longer. Do not drop your students outside and leave AND do not knock on the side PreK doors for entry after the bell. Students must be walked into the front office and signed in at the front desk. Any other procedure is a safety hazard for our students and campus.

DISMISSAL

Dismissal is one of the most important times here at Savannah. We want to ensure all students make it home safely each day. We have created videos to explain the new systems below. Please watch the entire video so you will know where to pick up your students.

Car Rider

Front: Pre K - 1st Grade

Back: 2nd Grade - 5th Grade

Walker

Independent Walkers

Independent walkers will be walked to the crosswalk by a teacher and led off campus. These students our independent enough to meet a parent or older sibling at the bottom of the hill. Parents will wait by the bushes and older siblings will wait by the tree.

Secure Walkers

The secure walker dismissal is for students who are not independent enough to meet their parents at the bottom of the hill. As a parent you want to make sure you are paired up with your students before you walk off campus. If your student is a secure walker parents may NOT park in the parking lot and pick up their student as a secure walker. This system is for parents WALKING onto campus to get their students.
