There are two ways of joining the military: enlisting and commissioning as an officer.  Knowing the difference is vital to your decision making process. Click HERE to learn more about the ways to serve.

If you’re interested in serving as an officer, you have five options:

• Attend a senior military college or service academy

• Enroll at a traditional college or university with a Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program

• Attend Officer Candidate School (OCS) after graduating from college

• Receive a direct commission after earning a professional degree

• Advance through the enlisted ranks and then complete officer training

If you're interested in enlisting, you will need to take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery.   The ASVAB is a multiple-choice test that helps identify a person's strengths and aptitude for different careers.  Military Recruiters use ASVAB results to determine if someone is qualified to enlist in the United States Armed Forces.  ASVAB results are also used to decide military career path options.
