The new Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) includes unprecedented changes to how students and families apply for federal student aid and how we determine eligibility, giving students a better and simpler experience with the FAFSA form. Improvements include a direct data exchange with the IRS for income data elements, a new “Who’s My Parent?” wizard, and a single consolidated portal for all FAFSA help resources.
The 2026-2027 FAFSA Application is OPEN!
FAFSA is the federal form that calculates how you'll get money for your post-secondary education (meaning colleges, universities, tech schools and certificate programs). It starts by figuring out how much money your family can contribute, which is why they ask for tax, investment and personal information. It's totally ok put these things on your form! The information you include on FAFSA is only going to the U.S. Education Department and the colleges you select on your form. FAFSA is required to receive any federal funds, grants, government low-interest loans and aid money. You never know what you might quality for, so everyone needs to fill out the form! You don't want to miss out on free money! Many colleges look at FAFSA to determine financial aid award packages and scholarships they will offer you!
🌟FAFSA is a graduation requirement!🌟

FAFSA and TASFA allow you to access the 4 types of financial aid:
Scholarships: Awards that students MUST APPLY FOR that are based on need, merit, or achievement that DO NOT HAVE TO BE REPAID.
Grants: Awards that students QUALIFY for, mostly awarded based on need and DO NOT HAVE TO BE REPAID.
Work Study: On and sometimes off-campus jobs for students who demonstrate financial need. Usually part-time. Students must apply for this aid through the FAFSA or the TASFA.
Loans: Money that is BORROWED and MUST BE REPAID WITH INTEREST. There are different types of loans. TASFA and FAFSA help you qualify for low-interest loans that keep your repayment installments low!
