Hi Raiders! This is my 17th year at RHS and my 8th year as a Ryan Counselor. I love being the Career Counselor because I get to help students plan and prepare for the life they want after high school! I can connect you with an Armed Forces Recruiter to gain more information about Military Life. I provide search services and workshops to help students find part-time work and full-time jobs after graduation. I also work with tons of college admissions representatives to hold fairs, college days and lots of other fun stuff on campus!

We have so many great Career and Technology Programs at Ryan! It’s important to take classes for programs you’re interested in and continue to the advanced level courses. Students who finish our CTE Programs can gain hands on experience, along with certifications and licensures that can allow them to enter the job market making a higher wage. Some of our programs, like Cosmetology, provide all the training you need to go straight into the work force!

College and Career Canvas Courses: We have a College and Career Canvas Course for our Seniors and their Parents! It has lots of information about Colleges, Scholarships, Military Enlistment, Employment Opportunities, Student Events and FAFSA! We add new information every week! All Seniors were emailed invitations to join the course. If you need another invitation, please email our Career Counselor, Ms. Skaggs: cskaggs@dentonisd.org
